JUDGE OF THE LIVING AND THE DEAD, The NAME of Jesus
Acts 10:42
NIV:
He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as JUDGE OF THE LIVING AND THE DEAD.

And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the JUDGE OF THE QUICK AND THE DEAD.

We know that THE LIVING AND THE DEAD refer to all humanity, anyone whoever lived even if it was for only a few seconds. It refers all people from Adam to the very last person who is going to be born moments before the second coming of Christ or moments before the JUDGEment day.
So let us look into the word JUDGE.
A JUDGE is a person who presides over court proceedings or simply a public officer authorized to hear and decide cases in a court of law.
Now who authorized Jesus as JUDGE?
Acts 10 verse 42 above says ''.... God appointed as JUDGE OF THE LIVING AND THE DEAD.
God appointed Jesus as JUDGE and when God says so who could be against but the devil? The devil tried to prevent this but Jesus prevailed and proved that GOD the father was right in appointing Him JUDGE OF THE LIVING AND THE DEAD. Jesus went to Hades and preached to the dead just before He rose from the dead three days after His being nailed on the cross at Calvary. He did this so that He would be able to judge them come judgment day.
JUDGE OF THE LIVING AND THE DEAD, the NAME of Jesus. KING and KING OF KINGS, The NAME of Jesus.
Revelation 19:16
NIV:
On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
KJV:
And he hath onhis vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

We have two titles here which we will take together,
KING &
KING OF KINGS
Jesus in Matthew 21 v 5 is referred to as your KING and in Revelation 19 v 16 as KING OF KINGS. Both refer Jesus as King. After all the KING OF KINGS is also KING to everyone else who is under those kings.
Let's take the KING first.
A KING is the male ruler of a monarch who inherits the position by right of birth or person who is the finest of them who has authority above every other person in a particular state. Jesus is the only begotten Son of God and has the right over God's mornach or kingdom.
Now let us take the title KING OF KINGS bearing in mind the KING's defination above.
The Persian title of a KING OF KINGS referred to the monarch ruling over other monarchs who had a vassal, tributary or protectorate position.
The title is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible, applied to Nebuchadrezzar and to Artaxerxes.
In Daniel 2:37, Daniel interprets the dream of Nebuchadrezzar to the effect that "Thou, O KING, [art] aking of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
"In Christianity, "KING OF KINGS" is one of the titles of Jesus, based on1 Timothy 6:15, and Revelation 17:14, 19:16.
The Emperors of Ethiopia had the title of "KING OF KINGS".
Now Jesus is KING and KING OF KINGS even above those who were referred to as KING OF KINGS before Him.
The only difference between Him all all other KINGS is that He doen't have a queen but has His church as the bride.
